Founder, President/CEO

Justice oversees the organization by creating, communicating and executing the vision, mission, and direction of BEAM. She is a lover of laughing, pettiness, listening to podcasts and old school music (she’s an old soul). Justice graduated from University of Memphis with a BA in Criminology & Criminal Justice with a minor in Legal Thought and Liberal Arts. She hopes to attend law school one day to fight for Justice (no pun intended) for All. With BEAM, She prays that Black Christians can learn to fully embrace who they are because of their identity in Christ and not feed into a false narrative of who they are. She is always reminding herself of Philippians 3:8-11.

She is a lover of music, a self-proclaimed chocolate connoisseur, and enjoys her coffee like her role models-- strong and black. Lilly graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA in Spanish and a double minor in biology and chemistry. She aspires to work in the medical field as both a healthcare provider and an advocate. With BEAM, she hopes to empower black Christian women to be well-rounded in their faith in a world that tries to compartmentalize and minimize their potential.

Aiden--being a true Memphian-- has a deep love for hot wings, local coffee shops, and writing. Also, her obsession with binge-watching shows runs deep, if you have any suggestions, swing them her way. Aiden graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA in Communication and a minor in Spanish. Currently enrolled in Dallas Theological Seminary, she feels she has been called to empower women to love Jesus, know that there is a need for them in the church, and help them to walk confidently in their purpose. In her role with BEAM, she hopes that Black Women find more of God, to know that they are just as vital to the kingdom as their counterpart, and to create spaces that are tailored specifically for the betterment of Black Women. Her life verse is Hebrews 12:1-2.

Jerjuanna Cecille enjoys writing, poetry, good music, sports, and all things food. She received a BA in Speech Communications from Mississippi Valley State University and a MS in Mass Communications/ Radio and Television Production from Arkansas State University. She’s a creative who enjoys allowing the Lord to use her to draw others to Him through her work. In her role with BEAM she hopes to bring light to the struggle of Black Christian Women while showing the joy that is set before them within their struggle. She hopes that through BEAM young girls of color will see light in a dark world, beauty in what has been deemed by this world as ugly, and balance in the hope that there is a Savior Jesus who loves deeply. BEAM gives her the opportunity to fight and sacrifice so young women coming after her won’t have to. The Lord continues to move her heart towards Himself with Psalm 119 in its entirety.

President, BEAM at the UofM

Tamera oversees operations of our first collegiate chapter of BEAM at the University of Memphis. She is a native of the Nashville area and has spent the last 4 years studying biology at the University of Memphis, graduating this December! She is an aspiring dentist and desires to use these gifts in underserved communities and on international missions. BEAM has given me a special sisterhood that I did not have before, nor realized I needed. Sisters that embrace, uplift, support, and hype you up! We are able to love one another genuinely because Christ loved us first, and I’m blessed to be a part of something so beautiful.

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Romans 8:31
